I am Christine Ellison. I am a Fully qualified and experienced Social Worker . I have worked in Social work for over a decade and have  worked in a number of postions spanning all levels. Below is some of the top line things I have been involved in over the last 10 years.

Social Worker Children and Families

My experience includes work as a front line Child Protection practitioner, to include Out of Hours Duty and work with Young People with Disabilities at the level of Social Worker, Senior Social Worker and Team Manager. I have additional experience in family support, parenting work and residential social work.

Management Experience

I have also worked as a team manager in the supervision and management of frontline staff both Social Work and Support Staff.

I was also the Business Manager for a Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) resolving multi agency issues against the LSCB business plan advising on safe guarding policy and procedures, and LSCB training.

I was  the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) Managing allegations against Adults who Work with Children, working at operational and strategic level across multi agency settings to include the  private  and voluntary sector.
Responsibilities as a LADO included chairing strategy meetings, advising monitoring and reviewing cases, advising and training on safer recruitment and management of allegations, professional standards to include e-safety and risk assessments of staff suitability in respect of disciplinary hearings. This also included ensuring support for staff during the process of allegations working with Human Resources and management. When required chairing meetings for the Independent Review Team.

Training and Development of Staff

I have also been an associate trainer for Local Safeguarding Board, Early Support Trainer -key worker children with disabilities, University Tutor and Social Work Practice Teacher.

Specialising in safeguarding and child protection training.

Specialising in Professional Practice and Standards following a cycle of effective practice through recruitment, induction training and professional development and managing allegations against staff; based on experience and lessons learned as LADO.

Social Work, supervision, mentoring, training and development; practice teaching, practice tutor and post qualified training and development of social worker staff.

Advice and training on safeguarding, professional standards, induction and safer recruitment of new staff and management of allegations against staff. Mentoring and support for staff to include Life Style / Risk assessment for staff with specific issues, monitoring, mentoring and reviewing of support plans.

Chairing strategy meetings in respect of allegations against adults who work with children, independent safeguarding investigations in respect of allegations or complaints made against adults who work with children.

Qualifications

Diploma in Social Worker, BA 2:1 Post Qualifying Studies in Health and Social Welfare, Practice Teaching Award, NVQ Level 4 in Management, Early Support approved trainer, Training for Trainers certificate.
